GAM360

Learn how to connect and send audiences to Google Ad Manager (GAM) 360

In this article, we'll guide you through connecting Google Ad Manager (GAM) 360 to GrowthLoop and exporting your audiences to the destination.

GAM 360 is an ad management platform publishers use to manage their ad inventory and maximize revenue.

📘

Note

Get in touch with your Google account manager to enable audience lists via GCS for your network. Your Google account manager should also provide you with a public GCS bucket to receive audience lists, as well as configure an associated Google Group to manage permissions for this public bucket.

The public bucket should have a URI in the format of: console.developers.google.com/storage/browser/gdfp_cookieupload_[Ad Manager network code]

Prerequisites

Here are some prerequisites before you can set up GAM360 as a destination on GrowthLoop.

  • Locate your network code. Find it in Ad Manager under Admin, then Global settings, and then Network code.
  • Ensure an active First-Party Audience Segment exists in GAM360 for associating identifiers. You can find this by signing into your Google Ad Manager account and selecting Inventory, then Audience segments. More details here.
  • Select Publisher Managed population method if you don't want this segment to collect users through your inventory. Link
  • Expect up to a 24-hour delay from segment creation to batch upload availability.
  • If you have't already, create a Google Cloud Storage service account (refer to the first half of this document on how to set it up). Ensure that this service account is added as a member to the Google Groupwith write access to the public GCS bucket set up by your Google account manager.

      📘

      Note

No matter which identifier you choose, we check if the values are SHA-256 hashed (64-character hexadecimal digits). If they don’t pass our hash test, we hash them before sending to GAM360.

  6. Next, click the Select values drop-down and choose the corresponding field from your dataset that contains the selected identifier. This step is required to proceed.
  7. Configure your export settings:
    1. Export Name: Automatically populated with your audience name for easy identification in the destination.
    2. Campaign Type: Choose between One Time to export the audience once or Ongoing to continuously export new audience members as they qualify.
    3. Export Inclusion Criteria: Choose between All audience members to export the full audience or Newly added audience members to export only those who have been added since the last export.
    4. Audience Segment ID: Enter the unique ID of the target audience segment in GAM360 to ensure users are correctly mapped for targeting. You can find this by signing into your Google Ad Manager account and selecting Inventory, then Audience segments.
    5. Export Schedule: Configure the Frequency, Start Date, End Date, and specific Days of the Week (only for Ongoing exports).
  8. Finally, click Export to send the audience to GAM360! Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your audiences to appear in the destination.
