Snapchat

Use GrowthLoop audiences for Snapchat customer list segments.

Connect this destination to export audience membership as a Snapchat customer list segment, for use in Snapchat campaigns.

This destination writes to your Snapchat account and is a good fit when you want to:

  • Make GrowthLoop audiences available for Snapchat campaigns

To send conversion events, use Snapchat Conversions. Do not use an audience export to send conversion events.

Prerequisites

Make sure you have:

  • The Ad Account that should receive exported audiences.

Set up Snapchat as a destination

  1. In GrowthLoop, click the Destinations tab on the left sidebar.
  2. Click New Destination in the top right corner.
  3. Search for Snapchat and click Add Snapchat.
  4. Sign in with your Snapchat Ads Manager credentials, then click Continue to return to GrowthLoop.
  5. Enter the required information, then click Create.

Export to Snapchat

From within GrowthLoop, export from an audience or from a journey Destination Node. See Export an audience or Build a journey if you need more information on these steps.

After building or selecting an audience, click Export, then search for Snapchat. In a journey, add a Destination Node under Ads and select Snapchat.

Map contact identifiers

On an audience or in a journey Destination Node, map one match field:

Match fieldNotes
Email addressEmail address. GrowthLoop hashes it as SHA-256
PhonePhone number. Include the country code. GrowthLoop hashes it as SHA-256
Mobile Device IDIDFA or Google advertising ID. GrowthLoop hashes it as SHA-256

This destination does not send additional personalization fields.

Configure the export

This is where you set the campaign type and schedule for audience exports. On a journey Destination Node, you set timing on the journey canvas.

Export Inclusion CriteriaAll audience members for a full refresh, or Newly added audience members for additions and removals since the last export. The journey sends contacts who reach this node.
ScheduleSet frequency, start date, end date, and days of the week for ongoing exports.Users reach this node when the journey runs. Add a Delay Node or set Criteria Evaluation to control timing.

Export behavior

This is what GrowthLoop writes when you export an audience.

BehaviorWhat happens
What GrowthLoop writesA Snapchat first-party customer list segment. Direction is GrowthLoop → Snapchat Ads.
When it runsGrowthLoop sends the export as a batch on the next successful run. An export that starts Now runs within about 15 minutes. Journeys send exports on demand when users reach the Destination Node.
SegmentGrowthLoop creates a customer list named after Export Name. Later runs reuse that segment.
Match fieldEmail address, Phone, or Mobile Device ID, hashed as SHA-256.
AddGrowthLoop adds hashed identifiers to the segment.
RemoveGrowthLoop removes hashed identifiers from the segment.
One-time exportsGrowthLoop sends current membership once.
Ongoing adds and removalsOngoing exports add contacts who enter the audience and remove contacts who leave that segment.
DeletesGrowthLoop does not delete the Snapchat segment.

Confirm the export was successful

When the run finishes, confirm you can use the data in Snapchat.

  • Audience export: Sign in to Snapchat Ads Manager, open the menu in the upper left, and look up Audiences. Look for the _GL_Audience_ name unless you changed Export Name.
  • Journey Destination Node: Open Audiences and look up the customer list named after the export.

In GrowthLoop, review counts on the audience Exports tab, or open the Activity tab on the journey Destination Node. See Export an audience or Monitor a journey for more information.

Congrats on successfully exporting to Snapchat!
