Prerequisites

Make sure you have:

  • A Display & Video 360 account. If you do not have one, contact Google's Display & Video 360 sales team.
  • Permission in DV360 to link an External Data Partner under Advertiser Settings.
  • Your Display & Video 360 Advertiser ID. In DV360, expand Advertiser Settings, click Basic Details, and copy the Advertiser ID at the end of the first section.
  • A Mobile App ID only if you will match audiences on device IDs.

Set up Display & Video 360 as a destination

Link CMU: GrowthLoop in DV360 first. Then connect the destination in GrowthLoop.

  1. In DV360, expand Advertiser Settings in the left panel.
  2. Click Linked Accounts, then click LINK NEW ACCOUNT.
  3. Select External Data Partner.

  1. Search for CMU: GrowthLoop.
  2. Click the link button and accept the terms.

Connect DV360 in GrowthLoop

  1. In GrowthLoop, click the Destinations tab on the left sidebar.
  2. Click New Destination in the upper right corner.
  3. Search for Display & Video 360 (DV360) and click Add Display & Video 360 (DV360).
  4. Enter the required information, then click Create.
FieldDescription
Destination NameName this destination in GrowthLoop. Use a name so your team recognizes its purpose, like "Display & Video 360".
Sync FrequencySet the default export frequency (for example, daily or weekly). You can override this setting for individual exports.
Display & Video 360 Advertiser AccountThe advertiser that should receive exported audiences. Find the Advertiser ID in DV360 under Advertiser Settings → Basic Details.
Mobile App ID (optional)Required later when you match audiences on device IDs. For iOS, use the 9-digit ID at the end of the App Store URL, for example 123456789. For Android, use the package name, for example com.example.app.

GrowthLoop validates the connection. Display & Video 360 then appears in your list of connected destinations.

Export to Display & Video 360

From within GrowthLoop, export from an audience or from a journey Destination Node. See Export an audience or Build a journey if you need more information on these steps.

After building or selecting an audience, click Export, then search for Display & Video 360. In a journey, add a Destination Node under Ads and select Display & Video 360.

Map contact identifiers

Select a Match Type, then map at least one match field. If a match field is an array column, GrowthLoop expands it and sends each value.

Configure the export

This is where you set the campaign type and schedule for audience exports. On a journey Destination Node, you set timing on the journey canvas.

Confirm the export was successful

When the run finishes, confirm you can use the data in Display & Video 360.

  • Audience export: Open Audiences and look up the exported audience. Look for the _GL_Audience_ name unless you changed Export Name.
  • Journey Destination Node: Open Audiences and look up the audience named after the export.
