In this article, we'll walk you through the process of connecting Viant to GrowthLoop and exporting your audiences to the destination for programmatic advertising.

Prerequisites

  • Make sure you have a Viant account. Click here schedule a call with a rep!

Set up destination

  1. Log into GrowthLoop and click the Destinations tab on the left sidebar.

  2. Then click New Destinations on the upper right hand-side.

  3. Next, search for Viant in the destination modal and click Add Viant.

  4. In the modal, please select/insert the following information:

    • Destination Name: This is how the destination will be named and referred to in to the app going forward. It is helpful to make this name “marketer friendly” so everyone on your team knows it’s purpose.
    • Sync frequency: This is the default frequency audiences will be synced to a destination. Marketers can always change the frequency of an export, but this sets the default.
    • Username: Please contact your Viant rep to obtain a username.
    • Password: Please contact your Viant rep to obtain a password.
  5. Go ahead and select Create, and you will see Viant appear in your Destinations table!

Export to destination

  1. Navigate to your list of audiences by clicking the Audiences tab on the left sidebar.

  1. Choose an existing audience or create a new one! Need help creating? Click here to learn how! For this example, I'll choose an existing audience named CA Customers.

  1. Then click the Export button on the upper right hand-side.

  1. Search for Viant in the export modal and then click Add Viant.

  1. Then in the Export Settings tab, configure the following fields:

  1. Export Name: Automatically populated with your audience name for easy identification in the destination.
  2. Campaign Type: Choose between a one-time export or ongoing basis.
  3. Segment Name (Required): The name of the segment you want to export your audience to. Please contact your Viant rep to obtain it.
  4. Adelphic / Viant AID (Required): A unique identifier associated with your account. Please contact your Viant rep to obtain it.
  5. Segment ID: A unique identifier associated with the segment you are exporting your audience to. Please contact your Viant rep to obtain it.
  6. Segment ID Type: This refers to the type of segment you are exporting your audience to. Below are the available options, which are used in combination with the Segment ID.
    • Userpool: Used when you want to send the data to an existing Viant DSP userpool.
    • Taxonomy: Used when you want to send the data to an existing Viant DSP taxonomy segment.
    • Third_party: Used when you want it to go to Viant DSP taxonomy that is 3rd party.
  7. Export Schedule: Set the Frequency, Start date, End date, and specific Days of the Week.
  1. Next, set up your match fields in the Match Fields tab. You'll need to map at least one field to export. Please note, if you're mapping the Physical Address, ensure that your data adheres to postal service format (e.g., 1465 N Larrabee St #27a, Chicago, IL 60610, USA)

  1. Lastly, click Export, and you're done! Congrats on successfully exporting your audience to Viant.
