Amazon Ads

Learn how to connect and send audiences to Amazon Ads.

In this article, we’ll walk through how to connect Amazon Ads to GrowthLoop, export an audience, and locate it within your Amazon Ads account.

Amazon Ads is an advertising platform that helps businesses reach shoppers across Amazon’s properties and partner sites through sponsored ads and display campaigns. It enables marketers to target audiences based on shopping behavior and intent, optimize ad spend, and measure performance across the customer journey from awareness to conversion.

Prerequisites

  • Have an Amazon Ads account set up.
  • Ensure the user has Advertiser or Admin permissions on the Amazon Ads account.
  • User must have access to the specific advertiser account and region being connected.
  • Read-only or reporting-only permissions are not supported.

Set up destination

  1. When you sign into GrowthLoop, navigate to the Destinations tab on the left sidebar and click New Destination in the top right corner.
  2. In the window, type Amazon Ads into the search bar and click Add Amazon Ads.
  3. You’ll be redirected to Amazon to sign in.
  4. When prompted, click Allow to grant GrowthLoop access.
  5. Back in GrowthLoop, enter the required information.
    1. Destination Details

      1. Destination Name: This is how the destination will be named and referred to in to the app going forward. It is helpful to make this name “marketer friendly” so everyone on your team knows its purpose.
      2. Sync frequency: This is the default frequency audiences will be synced to a destination. Marketers can always change frequency of an export, but this sets the default.
    2. Credentials

      1. Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC)
        • Marketplace ID: The Amazon marketplace your AMC instance is associated with (for example: US, UK, DE). You can find this in the AMC UI under your account or instance settings.
        • AMC Instance ID: The unique ID for your AMC instance. This is available in the instance table, under the Instance ID column, within the AMC section of Measurement & Reporting in Amazon Ads.
        • AMC Account ID: Your Amazon Marketing Cloud account identifier. You can find this in the Amazon Marketing Cloud section of Measurement & Reporting in Amazon Ads, in the URL next to entityid.
      2. Demand Side Platform (DSP)
        • DSP Advertiser ID: The advertiser ID for your Amazon DSP account. You can find this in the Amazon DSP UI under Campaign Manager > Region, listed in the Advertiser column.
        • DSP Profile: The DSP profile associated with your advertiser account. This is typically shown in the Amazon Ads UI profile selector or provided by your Amazon Ads admin.
      📘

      Note

Provide either DSP credentials to activate audiences, or AMC credentials for measurement and analysis. You don’t need both.

  6. Go ahead and select Create, and we’ll validate we have all the proper permissions to load audience data to Amazon Ads. You should now see it in your list of connected destinations!
