The Trade Desk Data Marketplace

Publish provider-owned audiences into The Trade Desk Data Marketplace as licensable, targetable segments.

Publish provider-owned audiences to The Trade Desk (TTD) Data Marketplace, where they become targetable segments that advertisers can license and activate in their TTD campaigns.

This destination is built for GrowthLoop customers who are third-party data providers on The Trade Desk. When you export an audience, GrowthLoop uploads segment membership to TTD's third-party data API, and TTD auto-provisions the segment on the first write. The GrowthLoop audience name is sent as the Marketplace segment name (up to 128 characters).

How it works

  • Segments are named after your audience. GrowthLoop sends the audience name as the segment name. TTD provisions the segment automatically on the first membership write, so there's no separate "create segment" step.
  • Memberships carry a 180-day TTL. Each member is added with a 180-day time-to-live, The Trade Desk's maximum for third-party data. Re-sync the audience within that window to keep members active.
  • Removals are handled automatically. When a member leaves an audience, GrowthLoop expires their membership by re-sending the identity with a TTL of 0.
  • Raw email and phone never leave GrowthLoop. Email and phone identifiers are resolved to a raw UID2 before upload, so personal data is never sent to the Marketplace endpoint.

Prerequisites

  • An active The Trade Desk data provider account with Data Marketplace access. If you don't have one, get in touch with The Trade Desk here.
  • Your Data Provider ID and a data-provider API token. Obtain both from your Trade Desk Technical Account Manager (TAM).
  • If your audiences contain email or phone, you also need UID2 operator credentials. These include a UID2 base URL, API key, and secret key. Audiences composed entirely of native IDs (TDID, DAID, UID2, and so on) don't require UID2 configuration.

Note

TAM-provided values sometimes include trailing whitespace. Store your Provider ID and API token without extra spaces.

  1. Enter the required information in the modal:
    1. Destination Name: How the destination is named and referred to in the app going forward. A marketer-friendly name helps your team recognize its purpose.
    2. Sync Frequency: How often audiences sync to this destination by default. You can override this setting for individual exports.
    3. Provider ID: Your Trade Desk Data Provider ID. Every upload is scoped to this ID.
    4. API Token: Your data-provider Marketplace API token, used to authenticate requests.
    5. Data server URL: The Trade Desk data server base URL. Keep the default value, https://bulk-data.adsrvr.org, unless your TAM provides a different endpoint.

    3. Export Schedule: Set the frequency, start date, and end date.
  2. Click Export to publish your audience to the Marketplace.

Supported identifiers

The Trade Desk Data Marketplace accepts a range of device, cookie, and unified IDs. A single record can carry more than one identifier, which improves match rates. Records with no recognized identifier are dropped and reported in the failed count.

Email and phone are resolved to a raw UID2 through the UID2 identity service. If you plan to map these fields, make sure your UID2 credentials are configured on the destination.

Good to know

  • Segment naming: Your GrowthLoop audience name is the Marketplace segment name. The Trade Desk provisions the segment on the first write.
  • Membership TTL: Members expire 180 days after their last sync. Re-sync ongoing audiences within that window to keep them active.
  • Removals: When a member leaves an audience, GrowthLoop expires the membership rather than deleting it. The identity is sent again with a TTL of 0.
  • Re-syncs are safe: Re-sending the same membership simply refreshes the TTL.

You've successfully connected The Trade Desk Data Marketplace and published your first provider audience!
