Connect this destination to export audience membership into a Dotdigital address book, or to write warehouse rows onto Dotdigital contacts, for use in Dotdigital campaigns and programs.

This destination writes to your Dotdigital account and is a good fit when you want to:

• Make GrowthLoop audiences available as Dotdigital address books
• Create or update contact data fields from a warehouse table

Prerequisites

Make sure you have:

• A Dotdigital account with permission to create and manage API users.
• API user credentials (username and password) for Dotdigital API access.
• Your Dotdigital API region if your account is not on r1. Use r2 or r3.
• An integration token only if your Dotdigital account requires one.
• Data fields in Dotdigital for any contact attributes you plan to send from GrowthLoop.

Note

GrowthLoop does not create Dotdigital data fields for you. Create the fields in Dotdigital before you map them in GrowthLoop. The data field names in Dotdigital must match the field names GrowthLoop sends.

Set up Dotdigital as a destination

1. In GrowthLoop, click the Destinations tab on the left sidebar.
2. Click New Destination in the upper right corner.
3. Search for Dotdigital and click Add Dotdigital.
4. Enter the required information, then click Create.

GrowthLoop validates the connection by checking your Dotdigital credentials. Dotdigital then appears in your list of connected destinations.

Export to Dotdigital

From within GrowthLoop, export from an audience. See Export an audience if you need more information on these steps.

After building or selecting an audience, click Export, then search for Dotdigital.

Map contact identifiers

Map one of these match fields so GrowthLoop can find the Dotdigital contact:

• Email
• Phone
• Contact ID
• ID (Dotdigital contact ID)

You can also map additional fields to Dotdigital data fields, including custom attributes from the audience. Those data fields must already exist in Dotdigital.

Configure the export

This is what GrowthLoop writes when you export an audience.

Create a sync in GrowthLoop

Create a sync from a warehouse table to write rows onto Dotdigital contacts. See Syncs for information on how to complete those steps.

Select an Object Type:

When you configure the sync:

• Connection: Select your Dotdigital destination.
• Object Type: Select Contacts.
• Update Rule: Choose Insert, Update, or Insert or update. Contacts supports all three modes. See Sync behavior.
• Dataset/Table: Select the warehouse table that holds the records.
• Match Field: Map a contact identifier such as email, mobile number, contact ID, or Dotdigital contact ID.

After you map fields, click Update Sync. Enable the sync with the toggle at the top of the page.

Syncs update contact data fields. They do not add or remove contacts from address books. To manage address book membership, export an audience.

Contact fields

Map a match field, then map the data fields you want to write. GrowthLoop loads available data fields from your Dotdigital account.

Sync behavior

Rows without the required identifier fail.

Confirm the export was successful

When the run finishes, confirm you can use the data in Dotdigital.

• Audience export: Open Contacts > Address books and look up the address book named after your GrowthLoop audience. Open a contact profile and check Data fields to confirm the mapped values.
• Contact sync: Search for a contact and check the mapped data fields.
