Learn how to set up Dotdigital as a destination so you can start exporting audiences to it.

This article outlines the steps necessary to set up Dotdigital as a GrowthLoop destination and begin exporting audiences for activation.

Requirements

To connect the GrowthLoop application to Dotdigital, you must have a Dotdigital account and API user credentials (username and password). You will enter these credentials when creating your Dotdigital destination.

Setting up the destination

  1. Select Destinations from the left rail of your GrowthLoop home screen.

  2. Click New Destination on the top right.

  3. Search for Dotdigital and click Add Dotdigital.

  4. Enter the following information:

    1. Destination Name: This is how the destination will be named and referred to in the app going forward.
    2. Sync frequency: The default frequency your audiences will be synced to the destination.
    3. API username: Your Dotdigital API user email address.
    4. API password: Your Dotdigital API user password.
    5. Region (Optional): Your Dotdigital API region. Leave blank to use the default.
    6. Integration token (Optional): Only required if your Dotdigital account uses one.
    7. Personalization field prefix (Optional): A short prefix for personalization fields sent with exports.
  5. Click Create to finalize the destination.

Exporting to the destination

  1. Navigate to the Audiences section in the left sidebar and open an existing audience or create a new one. (Click here to learn how!)
  2. Click Export Audience.
  3. In the Create Export view, search for your Dotdigital destination and click Select.
  4. In the Export Settings tab, configure your desired Campaign Type and Export Schedule.
  5. In the Match Fields tab, map at least one identifier: Email, Phone, Contact ID, or Dotdigital Contact ID.
  6. Map any personalization or additional fields you want to send with the export.
  7. Click Export.

GrowthLoop creates or reuses a Dotdigital address book for the audience. You can check export activity in the audience Exports tab within GrowthLoop.
