Composable destinations overview
Trigger campaigns and use native templates in Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, SendGrid, and other platforms from GrowthLoop journeys.
Composable destinations let you do more than export an audience into a marketing platform. From a GrowthLoop journey, you can trigger email or SMS campaigns and choose creative that already lives in tools like Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and SendGrid—or publish templates you built in Content Library into those platforms.
This replaces the earlier Composable Campaigns docs with the full Engagement Suite model.

How it works
- Connect the platform under Destinations with the required credentials (API key, OAuth, or other auth for that platform).
- In a journey, add a Destination node and select that connection.
- Choose a campaign action such as Send Email or Send SMS (exact labels depend on the platform).
- Use the content picker to select Local content, Destination content, or Campaigns (see Key concepts for what each option does).
- Complete match fields, sender options, and any platform-specific publish settings, then save.
GrowthLoop orchestrates who enters the step; the destination platform executes the send when you trigger a native campaign, or GrowthLoop sends when you use GrowthLoop Email/SMS.
Supported platforms
Composable campaign triggers and content picking are available for major engagement platforms, including:
- GrowthLoop Email and GrowthLoop SMS (GrowthLoop Channels)
- Iterable
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- SendGrid
Platform-specific setup steps live in Destinations and the Integration Guides.
Key concepts
| Concept | Description |
|---|---|
| Campaign trigger | Journey export action that launches a send or campaign in the destination, not only list membership. |
| Local content | Content Library templates authored in GrowthLoop. When you pick Local content for Iterable or SFMC, GrowthLoop uploads it to the platform (you’ll later see a local copy and a destination copy in Content Library) and creates a campaign (Iterable) or journey (SFMC). For GrowthLoop Email/SMS, content is not duplicated on an external platform and no campaign object is created (sends use SendGrid). |
| Destination content | Templates already on the platform (created there or uploaded earlier). Reuses the existing template, but still creates a new campaign/journey when you trigger from the journey. |
| Campaigns | Reuses an existing platform campaign/journey—GrowthLoop does not create a new one. If that campaign’s template supports variants, you can pick which variant to use within it. |
| Publish settings | Options shown when publishing GrowthLoop content into a destination (content name, campaign name, subject, and platform fields such as SFMC send classification). |
Create templates into Iterable and Salesforce Marketing Cloud
You can author a template in Content Library (or from the journey content picker) and publish it into the connected platform so a real template or campaign object is created there.
Typical path from a journey Destination node:
- Open the template / campaign field for the destination.
- Click Pick from library.
- Select or create content, then complete Publish settings.
- GrowthLoop creates the artifact on the platform and links it to your Content Library item for reuse.
