SAP Emarsys

Learn how to set up SAP Emarsys as a destination for audience exports and contact personalization.

Use SAP Emarsys as a GrowthLoop destination to export Audiences to Emarsys contact lists and keep customer contact data ready for email campaigns and personalization.

Prerequisites

Before you connect SAP Emarsys to GrowthLoop, make sure you have:

  • An SAP Emarsys account with access to create or manage OpenID Connect API credentials.
  • A Client ID and Client Secret for API access.
  • Contact-related API permissions enabled for those credentials.
  • Your SAP Emarsys Core API base URL. The default value is https://api.emarsys.net/api/v3.

Note

SAP Emarsys shows the client secret only when you create the credentials. Store it securely before leaving the credentials screen.

Set up destination

  1. In GrowthLoop, navigate to Destinations in the left sidebar.
  2. Click New Destination in the upper right corner.
  3. In the Select Destination window, search for SAP Emarsys.
  4. Click Add SAP Emarsys.
  5. Enter the following destination details:
    1. Destination Name: Enter a clear name your team will recognize in GrowthLoop.
    2. Sync Frequency: Choose how often GrowthLoop should export audiences by default. You can adjust the schedule when you configure an export.
    3. Client ID: Enter the Client ID from your SAP Emarsys API credentials.
    4. Client Secret: Enter the Client Secret from your SAP Emarsys API credentials.
    5. API URL: Enter your SAP Emarsys Core API v3 base URL. Leave blank (we default to https://api.emarsys.net/api/v3) unless your SAP Emarsys account uses a different base URL.
  6. Click Create. GrowthLoop validates the credentials by checking access to Emarsys contact lists.

Export to destination

After you create the destination, you can export an Audience to SAP Emarsys.

  1. Navigate to Audiences in the left sidebar.
  2. Open an existing Audience or create a new Audience.
  3. Click Export Audience.
  4. In the Create Export flow, select your SAP Emarsys destination.
  5. Configure the export schedule and settings.
  6. In Match Fields, map your source email field to Email. GrowthLoop uses email as the required identifier for SAP Emarsys audience exports.
  7. Map any additional fields you want to send to SAP Emarsys contact attributes.
  8. Click Export.

GrowthLoop creates or reuses an SAP Emarsys contact list for the Audience. Exported records are added to or removed from that contact list based on Audience membership.
