Voyado

Learn how to set up Voyado Engage as a destination for audience exports and contact personalization.

Use Voyado Engage as a GrowthLoop destination to export Audiences to Voyado contact profiles. GrowthLoop writes audience membership to a custom Voyado contact attribute and can send additional contact fields for personalization.

Prerequisites

Before you connect Voyado Engage to GrowthLoop, make sure you have:

  • A Voyado Engage account with permission to create API connections.
  • A Voyado API key with access to read and update contacts.
  • Your Voyado tenant URL (for example, https://mytenant.voyado.com).
  • A custom contact attribute in Voyado Engage for audience membership. GrowthLoop defaults to growthloopaudience, but your team can use a different name when configuring the destination.
📘

Note

GrowthLoop does not create this attribute for you. Create it in Voyado Engage before you connect the destination or run your first export. If the attribute is missing, exports may fail or the audience name will not appear on contact profiles.

Create the audience attribute in Voyado

GrowthLoop stores audience membership in a custom contact attribute on each Voyado contact (default name: growthloopaudience). Voyado must have that attribute defined on your tenant before GrowthLoop can write to it.

  1. In Voyado Engage, work with your Voyado administrator to create a custom contact attribute for audience membership.
  2. Use the attribute name growthloopaudience unless your team agreed on a different name.
  3. Confirm the attribute appears on contact profiles in Voyado Engage before you export from GrowthLoop.
  4. When you connect Voyado in GrowthLoop, enter the same attribute name in the Audience Attribute field on the destination form.

If you are unsure how to create custom contact attributes on your tenant, contact your Voyado team or Voyado support. GrowthLoop only updates attributes that already exist in Voyado Engage.

Set up destination

  1. In GrowthLoop, navigate to Destinations in the left sidebar.
  2. Click New Destination in the upper right corner.
  3. In the Select Destination window, search for Voyado.
  4. Click Add Voyado.
  5. Enter the following destination details:
    1. Destination Name: Enter a clear name your team will recognize in GrowthLoop.
    2. Sync Frequency: Choose how often GrowthLoop should export audiences by default. You can adjust the schedule when you configure an export.
    3. API URL: Enter your Voyado Engage tenant URL without /api/v3 (for example, https://mytenant.voyado.com).
    4. API Key: Enter the API key from your Voyado Engage API connection.
    5. Prefix for Personalization Fields: Optional. GrowthLoop uses this prefix on exported personalization fields before sending them to Voyado. Leave blank to send fields without a prefix.
    6. Source: Optional. Defaults to growthloop_cdp. GrowthLoop sends this value when creating new contacts in Voyado.
    7. Audience Attribute: Optional. Defaults to growthloopaudience. Enter the custom contact attribute name you already created in Voyado Engage. GrowthLoop writes audience membership to this field during export.

  1. Click Create. GrowthLoop validates the connection by checking the Voyado API health endpoint.

Export to destination

After you create the destination, you can export an Audience to Voyado Engage.

  1. Navigate to Audiences in the left sidebar.
  2. Open an existing Audience or create a new Audience.
  3. Click Export Audience.
  4. In the Create Export flow, select your Voyado destination.
  5. Configure the export schedule and settings.
  6. In Match Fields, map your source identifier to one of the supported Voyado match fields:
    • Email (required if you are matching on email)
    • Mobile Phone
    • External ID
    • Member Number
  7. Map any additional fields you want to send to Voyado as contact attributes.
  8. Click Export.

GrowthLoop looks up each contact in Voyado using the match field you selected. If the contact exists, GrowthLoop updates the contact profile. If the contact does not exist, GrowthLoop creates the contact and then updates the profile. Contacts added to the Audience have the audience attribute set to the exported audience name. Contacts removed from the Audience have the audience attribute cleared.

Find exported audience membership in Voyado

After a successful export, open a contact in Voyado Engage that was included in the Audience. On the contact profile, confirm the custom audience attribute (by default, growthloopaudience) is set to the exported audience name.

You can use that attribute in Voyado Engage automations, segments, and personalization—for example, to filter contacts who belong to a specific GrowthLoop Audience or to personalize message content with fields sent from GrowthLoop.

To confirm the export ran successfully in GrowthLoop, open the Audience Exports tab and review the export activity tracker.

Congrats on successfully connecting Voyado as a destination!
