GrowthLoop Channels overview
Configure first-party email and SMS sending with GrowthLoop Channels, then use GrowthLoop Email and GrowthLoop SMS destinations in journeys.
GrowthLoop Channels are GrowthLoop’s first-party email and SMS sending infrastructure. In the app, open them from the left sidebar as Channels.
Use GrowthLoop Channels when you want GrowthLoop to send the message itself—rather than triggering a campaign inside Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or another composable destination.

How it works
Think of Channels and Destinations as two related layers:
- Channels — Set up how GrowthLoop sends: sending domains, senders, IP pools, unsubscribe groups, phone numbers, SMS services, and channel configurations (named sender profiles).
- Destinations — Saving a channel configuration automatically creates a GrowthLoop Email or GrowthLoop SMS destination for the current team. Journeys use that destination.
Until a team has a channel configuration (and its auto-created destination), that team cannot send through GrowthLoop Channels from journeys.
Key concepts
| Concept | Description |
|---|---|
| Sending domain | Domain used to send GrowthLoop email; must be verified before production sends. |
| Sender | From-identity (from name and email) associated with a verified sending domain. |
| IP pool | Pool of sending IPs associated with your email channel. |
| Unsubscribe group | Compliance grouping for email unsubscribe management. |
| Numbers & short codes | Phone numbers provisioned for GrowthLoop SMS. |
| SMS service | SMS sending profile that pairs a purpose with a phone number. |
| Channel configuration | Reusable sender profile that bundles identity and delivery settings (from name/email, reply-to, physical address, domain, IP pool, unsubscribe group, or SMS service and number). |
| GrowthLoop Email / GrowthLoop SMS | Destination types that send through GrowthLoop using a selected channel configuration. |
Channels vs composable destinations
| GrowthLoop Channels | Composable destinations | |
|---|---|---|
| Sidebar setup | Channels + Destinations | Destinations only (platform credentials) |
| Sender identity | Defined in channel configurations | Defined in the external platform |
| Templates | Content Library (local content) | Local content, destination content, or existing campaigns |
