GrowthLoop Channels overview
Configure first-party email and SMS sending with GrowthLoop Channels, then use GrowthLoop Email and GrowthLoop SMS destinations in journeys.
GrowthLoop Channels are GrowthLoop’s first-party email and SMS sending infrastructure. In the app, open them from the left sidebar as Channels.
Use GrowthLoop Channels when you want GrowthLoop to send the message itself—rather than triggering a campaign inside Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or another composable destination.

How it works
Think of Channels and Destinations as two related layers:
- Channels — Set up how GrowthLoop sends: sending domains, link branding, sender identities, IP addresses, IP pools, unsubscribe groups, phone numbers, messaging services, and channel configurations (named sender profiles).
- Destinations — Saving a channel configuration automatically creates a GrowthLoop Email or GrowthLoop SMS destination for the current team. Journeys use that destination for campaign-trigger sends.
- Reporting — Review delivery, engagement, and unsubscribe metrics for GrowthLoop Email and GrowthLoop SMS. GrowthLoop also writes channel data to your warehouse for custom analysis.
Until a team has a channel configuration (and its auto-created destination), that team cannot send through GrowthLoop Channels from journeys.
GrowthLoop Email and GrowthLoop SMS are designed for journey campaign triggers. They do not support standard audience exports.
Key concepts

| Numbers & short codes | Phone numbers provisioned for GrowthLoop SMS. |
| Messaging service | SMS sending profile that pairs a purpose with a phone number and opt-out keyword settings. |

| GrowthLoop Email / GrowthLoop SMS | Campaign-trigger destination types that send through GrowthLoop using a selected channel configuration. |

|---|---|---|
| Sidebar setup | Channels + Destinations | Destinations only (platform credentials) |
| Sender identity | Defined in channel configurations | Defined in the external platform |
| Templates | Content Studio templates | GrowthLoop Content, External Content, or existing campaigns |
| Reporting | GrowthLoop channel reporting and warehouse data | Destination platform reporting, plus any data available in GrowthLoop or your warehouse |
| Supported send path | Campaign triggers from journeys | Campaign triggers, and audience exports when the destination supports them |
